Motorcyclist in life-threatening condition after Anthony Henday crash

EDMONTON – A motorcyclist was rushed to hospital Wednesday morning in life-threatening condition, following a crash on Anthony Henday Drive.

The collision happened just east of the Cameron Heights turn-off westbound on the Henday at approximately 6 a.m.

When they arrived on scene, officers found a 24-year-old man lying on the road suffering from multiple injuries.

Witnesses told police it appeared the motorcyclist was weaving in and out of traffic and was attempting to squeeze between two semi-tractor trailer units when he allegedly hit the side of one truck and lost control of his Ninja motorcycle.

Paramedics treated the 24-year-old at the scene before taking him to hospital. He condition is unstable.

Motorists were being asked to avoid the area. Police expect the road to be open again by 1:30 p.m.
