MONTREAL — The Miriam Foundation has announced a breakthrough partnership with the Quebec government to improve the lives of children with autism and intellectual disabilities.
The goal is to help decrease the current wait lists for diagnosis for young children with possible autism or developmental delays.

Hundreds of children are waiting years for a diagnosis and organizers said Wednesday these delays are simply unacceptable.
A $5 million donation from the Marcelle and Jean Coutu Foundation has been earmarked to address the issue.
