Northern Sask. paramedics fired for allegedly sleeping on the job

The Athabasca Health Authority has terminated its contract with a number of paramedics, claiming they were sleeping on the job.

The authority wrote in its letter of termination that the severity of the negligence means it will be reporting the information to the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics.

One of the fired medics, who did not want to be identified, says the allegations are false.

He says it leaves the province’s far north with virtually no paramedic service during the day.
