UPDATE, Oct. 7, 2014: The RCMP had taken the unusual step of releasing the suspect’s identity and photo even though he is a minor. A court order permitting the release expired on Oct. 7.
HALIFAX – The RCMP has issued a Canada-wide arrest warrant for a teenager from North Preston, N.S. in connection with a recent shooting.
The 17-year-old is charged with attempted murder after two people were shot at on Downey Road in North Preston on Sept. 26.

An 18-year-old man and 20-year-old woman were walking on the side of the road when several shots were fired from a vehicle that drove up beside them.
The woman was shot in the arm and later treated and released from hospital. The man was not injured.

The teen is also charged with breach of probation and several weapons-related offenses.
He is described as a black male, 5’10”, 140 pounds with black, curly hair and brown eyes. He is considered armed and dangerous, and police have advised the public not to approach him.
