London residents have voted Matt Brown to replace disgraced former mayor Joe Fontana, who resigned this summer after a fraud conviction.
Brown, a teacher, won with almost 57 per cent of the vote over the closest challenger, businessman Paul Cheng , who got 35 per cent of the vote.

Fontana declared he would not seek re-election, ending an almost 30-year career in federal and municipal politics.
Fontana was convicted of defrauding the government after it was discovered he forged a contract from his son’s wedding to make it look like a political event while he was a Liberal MP.
The former mayor was spared jail time following the conviction but was sentenced to four months house arrest and 18 months’ probation.
