WINNIPEG — An appearance for one of the five rebel Manitoba cabinet ministers was cancelled Friday afternoon.
Municipal Government Minister Stan Struthers was scheduled to make an infrastructure announcement in East St. Paul at 1:30 p.m.
“We just received notice early this afternoon that he was unable to attend,” said Shelley Hart, East St. Paul’s mayor, who said she wasn’t told why.

A government spokeswoman said she wasn’t sure why Struthers was no longer attending.
Struthers said Monday that Premier Greg Selinger needed to consider stepping down.
The premier responded Tuesday at a news conference wehre he said he was staying put and he had a “conversation with all five ministers.”
