Don’t forget the gloves and the sunglasses, as there is not much change over the next few days. Expect cool and mostly sunny conditions.
Remember the omega block? We talked about it a couple times in the summer. In case you missed it, an omega block is a blocking pattern that encourages very little change in the weather pattern. And once again, this type of a block has set up across our side of the globe. We are just under the east side of the upper ridge in this blocking pattern, and as a result, a northerly flow will be in place for a few days.

When a northerly flow in the upper levels is over us at this time of year, we can expect cool and dry air that is sourced from the Arctic. Cold air can’t hold moisture well, hence the little precipitation in the forecast and the sunshine.
