CN freight train derails west of Terrace

The Transportation Safety Board (TSB) is sending a team of investigators to the site of freight train derailment in northwestern British Columbia.

The derailment involving a Canadian National freight train happened approximately 75 km west of Terrace just before 6a.m. this morning.

The TSB says at least 20 cars of the container train jumped the tracks, but there were no injuries and no dangerous cargo aboard.

The cause of the derailment is not known at this time.
