TORONTO – Sleek separates and sumptuous eveningwear formed the core of Sunny Fong’s creations for his VAWK label to close out Day 4 of spring-summer collections unveiled at LG Fashion Week on Thursday.

The presentation opened with elegant dresses from the label’s resort collection for 2012, with belts and bustiers boasting floral cutouts serving as gleaming gold accents to fluid asymmetric, racerback and strapless dress styles.

But it was the insect-inspired creations which were the standouts, from moth-patterned tanks and dresses to flowing, tiered multi-coloured skirts interwoven with panels and shapes reminiscent of wings.

Fong again showed versatility in his creations, and in the models displaying them, with both a fuller-figured catwalker and a more mature model earning spontaneous cheers from the audience.
