A driver captured on video as she tries to back out of a parking space has received a $115 ticket from Calgary police.
The five-minute video was posted on YouTube Thursday and has since received more than two million views.

The video, captured by a surveillance camera at a business in the 4000 block of Manilla Road S.E., shows the driver of the BMW SUV backing into a parked vehicle. The woman then spends several minutes trying to get turned around.

She earned the moniker of ‘Calgary’s worst driver’ in a tweet from Calgary police digital communications officer, Cst. Jeremy Shaw.
Calgary police later tracked her down and confirm she has received a $115 ticket for ‘unsafe backing’.

The Alberta Motor Association (AMA) offers a course on ‘safe backing’ that helps drivers learn about the common hazards of parking and backing out.
“You want to back up very slowly,” said the AMA’S Ron Wilson. “Make sure you look mainly out the back window and check both mirrors. Steer in the direction you want the vehicle to go.”
The AMA says drivers spend 95 per cent of the time moving forward and just five per cent of the time going backwards, so maybe it isn’t surprising some drivers run into a little trouble.
