CALGARY – A Calgary man charged in the murder of his common-law wife made a brief court appearance on Tuesday.
Lisa Michelle Mitchell, who was 31, was the mother of two young children and was last seen alive at her Ogden home in October 2012.

Investigators say they got a search warrant for the residence on Friday, and found human remains inside.
Allan Shyback, 38, faces charges of second-degree murder and causing an indignity to a body.
He appeared in court on Tuesday via closed-circuit television.
The case was adjourned until Dec. 18.
