City of Edmonton reaches deal with unions

EDMONTON – The City of Edmonton has reached tentative agreements with five city unions.

The unions represent more than 8,000 full and part-time staff including transit, electrical and inside and outdoor workers.

The multi-year agreements cover 2014 to 2018. They include wage increases, premium and benefit improvements that total 13.5 per cent over five years.

Ratification votes are expected to happen in the New Year.
