PELICAN NARROWS, Sask. – A man has been charged with murder after another man died in northern Saskatchewan. It happened Tuesday morning in Pelican Narrows.
Police say an unresponsive man was brought by paramedics to the health centre around 7:30 a.m. in the northern community. Wilfred Brent Sewap, 38, was declared dead a short time later. The cause of death has not been released.

Mounties had arrived at the health centre around the same time on an unrelated matter and launched an investigation into Sewap’s death. The investigation found a physical altercation had taken place at a Pelican Narrows residence.
Blaine Charles, 22, has been charged with second-degree murder. The Pelican Narrows man is scheduled to appear in Prince Albert provincial court on Jan. 2.

Police say Sewap and Charles were known to each other.
An autopsy is scheduled for Jan. 2 at Saskatoon City Hospital.
