Environment Canada issued a special weather statement this morning for Huron-Perth, Mount Forest-Arthur-Northern Wellington County, Dufferin-Innisfil, Grey-Bruce and Barrie-Orillia-Midland.

The agency says those areas will get some lake effect snow from a system that has developed over Lake Huron and Georgian Bay.

Because the ground temperature is still warm, snow accumulations in most areas are only expected to be in the two-to-five centimetre range.

However, there could be five to 10 centimetres in the Barrie area. (CKGL, The Canadian Press)
