“They’re here because at one point they didn’t think it was even possible,” says Danny Buntain, member of the Board of Directors for Canada Snowboard.
Thirty one para-snowboarders took to the snowy slopes on Saturday in the first para-snowboarding event in Canada since the sport made its debut last year in Sochi at the Paralymics. The event runs from Saturday to Monday, January 19.
