RCMP intercept drug packages headed for Sask. business

YORKTON, Sask. – Two men are facing charges after RCMP intercepted two packages on Friday headed for a Yorkton, Sask. business. Mounties say each package contained around 4.5 kilograms of marijuana.

Search warrants were executed at a business and a residence in the city. Police seized over $6,000 in cash, 36 grams of cannabis resin and another 6.3 kg of marijuana.

Six individuals were initially arrested.

The two men are heading to court on Monday on a number of charges including possession of marijuana, possession of cannabis resin, drug trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime and breach of an undertaking.

Yorkton is approximately 305 kilometres east of Saskatoon.
