17-year-old charged with second degree murder in Prince Albert death

PRINCE ALBERT – A 17-year-old male was charged with second degree murder after turning himself in to police on Saturday. Police were called to the 800 Block of River Street West at about 9 p.m. Friday, where they found 36-year-old Johnathan Kasagan in critical condition.

He was taken to hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday.

Police said Kasagan’s killing wasn’t a random act of violence. They are not seeking additional suspects.

The 17-year-old is scheduled to appear in Prince Albert provincial court Monday morning.
