Gunshots reported after truck collision

Charges are pending for a 38-year-old man after gunshots were reported on the Cowessess First Nation early Sunday morning.

RCMP were called to a single vehicle collision near the local golf course at approximately 3:50 a.m. Sunday morning. The truck caught fire and was extinguished by the local fire department.

RCMP received a gunshot report at approximately 4:20 a.m. indicating a man had fired at a house and entered the residence.

Mounties secured the perimeter around the house and deployed the Emergency Response Team.

With the assistance of family members, RCMP arrested the 38-year-old man without incident before noon.

Cowessess First Nation is approximately 170 km east of Regina.
