MONCTON – The RCMP’s Internet Child Exploitation Unit has arrested and charged a 24-year-old Moncton man on five different child exploitation charges.
The arrest was the result of an investigation that started in the fall of 2014.
The man, who cannot be named because of a publication ban protecting the identity of the victim, was charged with making child pornography, possessing child pornography, making available child pornography, touching a person under the age of 14 for sexual purposes, and sexual assault.

The offences are alleged to have occurred between January 2010 and December 2014 in Moncton and Saint-Léonard, N.B.
The RCMP Internet Child Exploitation unit investigation started as the result of information received from the York Regional Police in Ontario.
The individual remains in custody until his next court appearance, on Feb. 27.
