MONTREAL — A few hundred demonstrators marched through downtown Montreal on Monday, as part of a series of “disruptive actions” protesting the Quebec government’s planned austerity measures.
The protests have been organized by a coalition of community groups, unions, and student groups, including the provincial political party Québec solidaire.
As part of a province-wide week of anti-austerity protests, there are half a dozen events such as marches, protests and flash mobs, planned each day for the next seven days.
