MONTREAL – Thousands of West Island commuters once again faced a one-hour delay during Tuesday’s afternoon rush hour after a truck got wedged in the Guy St. viaduct.
The accident halted westbound train service for 50 minutes while the truck was dislodged and inspectors made sure the structure was safe for train service to resume, said Brigitte Léonard, a media relations officer with the Agence métropolitaine de transport.

Service was reestablished at 6:30 p.m.
The busy line transports some 11,000 passengers daily.
The incident was a repeat of numerous others where trucks have got stuck at the same spot.
Canadian Pacific, which owns the viaduct, has said it is the city’s responsibility to prevent accidents by posting signs indicating the maximum height allowed in the tunnel.
The city has floated the idea of barrng heavy trucks from the viaduct.
