Vancouver man dies in a BASE jumping accident in Idaho

Authorities in Idaho are confirming a Vancouver man has died as a result of a BASE jumping incident in the the Snake River Canyon.

Lori Stewart, public information officer with the Twin Falls County Sheriff’s Office, told Global News 32-year-old Bryan Turner succumbed to his injuries resulting from a jump off the Perrine Bridge.

Stewart says the call came in yesterday at 12:04.

There were reports that Turner’s parachute did not open and he hit the water.

The man’s friends and other kayakers in the area managed to pull him out of the water.

It is alleged Turner was still breathing at the time, but passed away after getting airlifted to hospital.

Twin Falls County Sheriff’s Office says his family in B.C. has been notified.
