Sandy Euteneier, a health region spokeswoman, says Pasqua reduced its surgical load by 50 per cent while the equipment was being installed and tested between Feb. 2 and March 15.

Euteneier says the $250,000 machine will completely clean everything needed for a procedure within an hour.

She also says it has the potential to increase the number of operations done at Pasqua.
