MONTREAL — Jeffrey Beausoleil is about to attempt something extraordinary for any 16-year-old — a Spartan Race.
What makes it even more incredible? He was born without a right leg or a right hand.
Standing before about 100 students at Edinburgh School in Montreal, he fielded a battery of questions.
Was he bullied in school? Can he kick a ball? How fast can he run?
To the last question, he gave a matter-of-fact response:

On Monday morning, Beausoleil showed off his training regimen at Rugby Park in Montreal West.

The Spartan Race is a 5km event scheduled for May 23 in Mont Tremblant.
The Shriner’s Hospital, where Beausoleil is a patient, is a charity sponsor.
Students at the school, like sixth-grader Logan Donato, were amazed.
“It shows he’s just like everybody else,” Donato said.
“I think he’s very courageous.”
His mother, Isabelle Grenier, is understandably proud.
“It’s amazing he keeps his training up,” she said.
“He continues even despite how hard it must be for him.”
