HALIFAX – Police in New Brunswick are investigating after two complaints of metal objects found in potatoes purchased in the province.
RCMP say one potato was in a bag purchased at the Tabusintac Co-op on May 13 and was discovered on May 18.

A separate complaint was filed on May 19 with the BNPP Regional Police Force in northern New Brunswick by the owner of the Petit-Rocher Inter Marché, who found a nail in a potato and returned it to the store.
No injuries were reported from either incident.

On Thursday, RCMP in Nova Scotia said they were investigating two incidents of nails being found in potatoes purchased at grocery stores.
RCMP are asking people who find metal objects in potatoes to not throw them out and report it to local police immediately.
Last year, police offered a $100,000 reward for information about sewing needles found in potatoes from Prince Edward Island-based farms.
