EDMONTON – The Alberta government is investing another $2 million to help cities go green.

Environment Minister Shannon Phillips says the money will go to the Municipal Climate Change Action Centre.
The centre offers advice and funding support to assist provincial municipalities to adopt environmentally friendly programs.
Such programs include energy retrofits to public buildings and the installation of solar panels on community halls.
Including the new money, the centre has received $6 million since 2009.
