Cyclist struck and killed in North York, woman charged

TORONTO – Toronto Police say a woman has been charged with several offences, after a fatal hit and run in North York Thursday morning.

A 44-year-old male cyclist was struck and killed by a vehicle at around 12:30 a.m. on Finch Ave W. near Tobermory Drive.

The vehicle that struck the victim fled the scene and was found at Jane Street and Portage Pkwy, north of Highway 7 in York Region.

A 22-year-old female suspect has been charged with nine offences, including impaired operation of a motor vehicle causing death, failure to stop after accident causing death, flight while being pursued by police and refusal of breath sample.

Police say there could be more suspects.
