‘I just had an inkling’: B.C.’s newest Lotto Max winners celebrate

VANCOUVER – B.C.’s newest multi-millionaires is a couple from Delta. They claimed their winning $12.5 million Lotto Max prize Thursday morning and were one of four winners to share in the June 5 $50 million jackpot.

Lisa-Marie Draganiuk and her husband Merle do not usually play the lottery, but Lisa-Marie bought the ticket in the hopes it would be the lucky one.

“I just had a sixth-sense,” said Lisa, 33. “I feel like you need to listen to your gut and [I] just had an inkling. I played the previous Lotto Max and had a special $20 that I had saved. I found it at Christmas time and I felt like that was going to do something big for me.”

The family says they do not have any firm plans on what to do with the money, but do have a few ideas.

Lisa told her mom they were multi-millionaires and that she no longer has to work. The family is also expecting their second child and say the money will be helpful in raising their children.
