PIERCELAND, Sask. – RCMP are investigating after a 13-year-old girl was found dead underneath a van in west-central Saskatchewan Saturday. At around 8:10 a.m., officers were called to a report of a pedestrian collision on Big Island Lake Cree Nation.
The victim was located beneath the vehicle on a rural unmarked road eight kilometres east of Pierceland, Sask.

Her name has not been released. The victim is from the community of Frog Lake, Alta.

The 26-year-old driver of the van was arrested at the scene and RCMP say charges are pending. She is from Big Island Lake Cree Nation.
