REGINA – Regina police are urging caution as they search for a suspect connected to a possible kidnapping this week.

A 19-year-old woman told police she was leaving a North Central house party just after midnight on July 7, when a white van pulled up beside her.

The victim says a man got out and pulled her into the back of the van while hitting her several times. She then says the man drove around for some time before opening the back door again, which is when she fought the man off and got away.

Police describe the man as Caucasian, 40 to 50 years old, with a full beard, wearing dark clothing and a black ballcap at the time.

No one has been identified as a suspect yet, police say. Until more is known, the Regina Police Service is warning people to be aware of their surroundings when alone at night and to not make themselves more vulnerable by being intoxicated.
