LONGUEUIL, Que. – The pilot of a small plane is dead following a crash early today near the Saint-Hubert Airport south of Montreal.
The victim is a 25-year-old man, but his name has not been released.

Authorities say the plane took off from the airport shortly before 1 a.m. and the pilot attempted to return to the airport a few minutes later.

However, the Cessna 150 operated by Air Richelieu crashed in a field near the airport.
Two investigators from the Transportation Safety Board of Canada have been sent to the scene to collect more information.
