NIPAWIN, Sask. – It’s bad enough having to deal with an evacuation. Now a Saskatchewan wildfire evacuee has been robbed.
Mounties say a green 1997 Chevrolet truck with an eagle decal on the back window belonging to a Montreal Lake evacuee was stolen in Nipawin early Wednesday morning.

Inside were the evacuee’s personal belongings, including four long guns: a .303 rifle, a 12-gauge shotgun, one .22 calibre repeater and a .22 calibre single shot.
The truck was located on Highway 35 east of Nipawin. All the contents had been taken.

Police are asking anyone who saw the vehicle stopped on the highway or who spotted suspicious activity to contact Nipawin RCMP at 306-862-6270 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
