BOWMANVILLE, Ont. – Via Rail has resumed passenger service between Montreal and Toronto and Ottawa and Toronto a day after a Canadian National Railway train derailed forcing Via to suspend train traffic.

A spokesman for CN said that seven cars of a westbound CN train derailed near Bowmanville at about 1:50 p.m. on Saturday.
Brent Kossey said no injuries were reported and no dangerous goods were involved in the derailment.
Via Rail says delays are expected throughout the day due to imposed speed restrictions on the site and possible railway congestion.
