SASKATOON – A fire in the Riversdale neighbourhood Friday was the result of arson, according to investigators. At 4:20 p.m., the Saskatoon Fire Department received multiple 911 calls of smoke coming from a house at 322 Ave. J South.

Upon arrival, fire crews found smoke coming from the rear of the building. Firefighters entered the home, searched for occupants and had the fire under control in 10 minutes.

There were no occupants inside the bungalow.
Investigators attended the scene and determined the fire was deliberately set. Damage is estimated to be $25,000.
