SASKATOON – Mariel Galdiano won the Canadian Women’s Amateur on Friday, closing with a 3-under 69 for a one-stroke victory over fellow American Bethany Wu. The 17-year-old Galdiano, from Pearl City, Hawaii parred the final hole at Riverside Country Club, while playing partner Wu made a bogey.

Galdiano finished at 5-under 283.
The UCLA recruit earned spots in the Canadian Women’s Open and U.S. Women’s Amateur.
The 18-year-old Wu, from Diamond Bar, California, closed with a 70.

Sarah Burnham of Maple Grove, Minnesota; Lauren Greenlief of Reston, Virginia; and Lucia Gutierrez of Peru tied for third at 1 under. Burnham shot 70, Greenlief 71, and Gutierrez 73.
