Summary: One of the three new ridings created in the York Region, this suburban riding will elect a rookie MP in 2015.
Boundaries: The largest riding in York, King-Vaughan contains all of King County south of Highway 9, and all of Vaughan north of Regional Road 73 east of Highway 400, and Regional Road 25 west of it.
Last Election: This is a new seat created from parts of Vaughan (which elected Conservative MP Julian Fantino by 26.5 per cent in 2011) and Oak Ridges-Markham (which elected Conservative MP Paul Calandra by 22.9 per cent in 2011). Neither of them is running here.

Had this riding existed in the last election, the Conservatives would have taken it by 29.6 per cent more votes than the Liberals (based on polling results).
History: Prior to last election, the seven ridings in York Region had generally been Liberal, with the exception of York-Simcoe and Newmarket-Aurora. However, the Conservatives added Thornhill and Oak Ridges-Markham to their tally in 2008, and last election won every seat in the region with the exception of Markham-Unionville.

Demographics: A riding with many young families, there is an average of 1.4 children per household in King-Vaughan, fifth highest in Ontario. The median age is 36.3, 12th lowest.
