Woman dead after being struck by semi in Saskatoon

SASKATOON – A woman was killed after she was struck by a semi in Saskatoon Tuesday evening. Police say the 40-year-old woman was struck while walking in the 100-block of Davidson Crescent around 10:30 p.m.

The woman, whose name has not been released, was declared dead at the scene.

A 31-year-old woman was also struck by the semi. She was taken to hospital by paramedics with what police believe to be non-life threatening injuries.

A third woman, 27, was not injured.

According to police, an altercation had occurred between the semi driver and the three women who were outside the truck at the time.

He then drove away from the scene and was located later by officers. He has been interviewed by police and has been released while collision analysts continue to investigate.
