MOOSE JAW. SASK –  A sign posted in a Moose Jaw neighborhood accusing someone of selling fentanyl, has caught the attention of local police.

A reporter at the Moose Jaw Times Herald snapped a photo of the sign on Monday and passed it along to authorities.

The poster appeared to threaten to give police the address of an alleged drug dealer within one week, if they didn’t stop selling fentanyl.

Sgt. Cliff Froehlich said when officers went to investigate the poster had already been removed.

“You don’t want to see any sort of vigilante action where people take the law into their own hands,” he said.  “We would encourage those people to come forward to police or contact our CrimeStoppers.”

There was one suspected fatal overdose linked to the drug in Moose Jaw earlier this year.

Froehlich added that while there’s been no recent cases, there’s always a concern the drug could be circulating in the area.
