Man suffers smoke inhalation in Saskatoon house fire

A man was taken to hospital with smoke inhalation after an early morning house fire in Saskatoon. Calvin To / Global News

SASKATOON – One person was injured after a house fire in Saskatoon. Firefighters were called to 322 Ave. J South at 2 a.m. Friday after a neighbour reported smoke and flame were coming from the house.

Fire crews arrived to find flame and smoke coming from the second storey. An exterior attack was started and firefighters entered the home though the back door to search the house.

A man was taken to hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation.

The fire was brought under control in 15 minutes.

A fire investigator and a police arson investigator are determining the cause of the blaze.

Damage is estimated at $175,000.
