Crash victim still in comatose state after fatal Sask. rollover

The Saskatchewan Union of Nurses says this week has been a nightmare for staff adding emergency rooms are still way over capacity. File / Global News

SASKATOON – A week after a fatal rollover east of Biggar, Sask., one of the passengers of the pickup truck is still in a comatose state. Global News has been in contact with the father of Chelsea Phillips who says his daughter remains unconscious but is moving which he views as a positive sign.

The single vehicle rollover on Aug. 19 happened on Highway 14. Mounties said the eastbound vehicle did not negotiate a curve in the highway, entered the ditch, struck a highway approach causing the driver to lose control.  The vehicle rolled more than once, according to investigators.
