MONTREAL – A 34-year-old man is in stable, but critical condition in hospital after being stabbed in the upper body.
It happened around 9:30 p.m. in front of the Rice Box restaurant on Hochelaga Street, near Moreau Street in the Hochelaga-Maisonneuve borough.

Police have not determined the motive for the stabbing.
Officers are searching for the suspect, who fled the scene.
