The BC Cancer Agency is using it’s “go have one” mammography campaign to highlight some new technology being used in the fight against breast cancer.
For years, mammogram images were recorded and stored on film, but now digital mammograms are offering clearer images, in less time.

At Kelowna’s screening lab, digital imaging has been available for the last several months and radiologists are excited by the the more detailed images and quicker turnaround in patient times.
The new digital imaging mammogram machine allows between 10-20 per cent more patients to be screened every day. It’s images are clearer, and easier to manipulate.
