Efficiency NS website hacked, taken down as a “precautionary measure”

Efficiency Nova Scotia's website was hacked and has been taken down by the organization as a precaution.

HALIFAX – Efficiency Nova Scotia says it’s working to restore its website after it was targeted by hackers.

The organization that administers conservation and energy efficiency programs in Nova Scotia says it discovered an issue with its website on Friday and took it down Monday after it discovered the site had been the target of a hacker attack.

It says in a news release that the move was a precautionary measure.

It adds an independent review is already underway to determine what happened and how future attacks can be prevented.
