TORONTO – A 39-year-old female bus driver found with open liquor next to her seat has been charged with impaired driving after rear-ending a vehicle in Pickering on Wednesday.
Durham Regional Police said the Durham Regional Transit bus collided with a SUV around 4:30 p.m. near Kingston Road and Whites Road following a lane change.

Police said 14 passengers were on the bus at the time of the incident but no one was injured.
The bus driver, identified as Kristin Hasted of Cobourg, was arrested and taken to the West Division police station where she refused a breathalyzer test.
The accused has since been charged with one count of impaired operation and fail to provide breathe sample.
She was released from custody on a promise to appear in court.
