Calgary police lay charges in bizarre Tuscany carjacking incident

CALGARY – A 26-year-old man is facing a handful of charges in connection to an attempted carjacking in the community of Tuscany on Tuesday.

It’s alleged the suspect had stolen a food truck from the 800 block of 6 Avenue S.W. at around 6:30 a.m. which he drove to the 0-100 block of Tuscany Hill N.W.

Once there, police say the suspect parked the food truck and attempted to steal another vehicle, but its anti-theft device rendered it inoperable.

The suspect then allegedly attempted to steal a vehicle from a driver in the 0- 100 block of Tuscany Glen Gate N.W. while wearing a mask.

Police took one man into custody from the scene.

Investigators have charged Colin Daniel Keess with numerous offences related to motor vehicle theft and carjacking.
