MONTREAL – A 94-year-old Montreal woman is recovering from minor injuries after a thief broke into her home while she slept.
Police said a man broke into the home in the Lasalle suburb at about 7:45 p.m. Monday and began searching through the home.

The thief tried to tie up the elderly woman before leaving, but she managed to escape and get help from a neighbour.
She was treated for minor injuries at the scene.

Police are meeting with possible witnesses.
The suspect, who fled the scene, is described as a white male, tall, with a slim build and about 25-years-old.
