Burnaby player’s amazing trick goal might send your jaw to the floor

Burnaby Winter Club’s under-18 player Nathan Pelletier has become an Internet sensation after pulling off one heck of a trick goal Saturday in Idaho.

Right-handed shot Pelletier, who’s listed on BWC U18’s website as 5′ 11″ and 165 pounds, came off the left-wing in the third period and headed for the net already up by four goals over Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy (CDAHA).

Instead of avoiding a sliding CDAHA defenceman, the Coquitlam native instinctively flipped the puck over the challenge and swatted it out of mid-air just like Toronto Blue Jays slugger Jose Bautista. The only thing missing was an epic stick flip.

Footage of the goal has since gone viral after it was recorded and shared on Twitter by U18 Prep assistant coach Josh Bonar.

BWC went on to win the game 7-0 at Frontier Arena. The following day they defeated Okanagan Hockey Academy 8-1, according to game reports listed on the club’s site.
