The shocking incident took place Friday afternoon as staff tried to subdue a violent and intoxicated male.

Three staff members from the Gospel Mission were struck by a white Honda Civic. The male that was being restrained got into the car and took off.

The three staff were taken to hospital for varying injuries. One staff member, Vince Bultel, was the most seriously hurt. The car hit his head and the impact tore ligaments and tendons in his leg.

“I felt an impact on my body and went flying through the air and landed on the sidewalk,” Bultel said.

RCMP say they are investigating information the driver of the car was the mother of the Kelowna man involved in the fight. Police arrested the 24-year-old man Saturday morning but have yet to locate the white Honda Civic or the driver. The male suspect has yet to the charged.
