Couple claim $1 million lottery ticket in Saskatoon

SASKATOON – Saskatoon’s latest lottery winners couldn’t believe their lottery ticket was worth $1 million. Murray Mohr and Sheryl Leavitt won playing the national Scratch’N Win game Extreme Millions.

Mohr bought the $20 ticket from the Shoppers Drug Mart at 3014 McClocklin Road in the Hampton Village neighbourhood.

He says he didn’t scratch the prize amount until he knew he had won something. Upon scratching the rest of the ticket, he discovered is was a million-dollar winner.

Leavitt was in shock when Mohr showed her the ticket.

“I thought it must have been a fake ticket,” Leavitt laughed. “I didn’t think it was really true.”

The couple are looking forward to paying off all their debts but that doesn’t mean they aren’t planning to have a bit of fun too.

Mohr is already picking out a Camaro to buy and drive when the snow melts this spring.
