Vanscoy mayor Jerome Robert says there have been 89 accidents on the highway since 2005.

The accident in Alberta happened Friday on Highway 63, which is a two-lane, undivided link between Edmonton and Fort McMurray.

Robert says he hopes the Alberta tragedy will prompt the Saskatchewan government to get moving on Highway 7.
